Manchester City have had a solid transfer window for the most part, but few would be able to say it has been perfect.
City have brought in a host of top players in their prime along with superb talents who look like they have a bright future in the game.
The likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri have arrived as first-team ready stars.
Meanwhile, the likes of Sverre Nypan and James Trafford are expected to develop into stars in the coming years.
However, there are at least three things we believe Manchester City got wrong in the summer window.

Manchester City should have signed a right-back and/or centre-back
For all of City’s activity in the transfer window, they failed to get their hands on a new right-back or a new centre-back.
Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunes were poor when they played against Tottenham and Brighton respectively.
Though City may well also point at John Stones and Abdukodir Khusanov being able to play at right-back, it doesn’t make for a particularly impressive selection overall.
Opponents will be well aware that City’s right flank will be a weak link and will target it accordingly.
In addition, Stones and Nathan Ake have been injury-prone, while Ruben Dias has been out of form since last season.
A right-back who can also play at centre-back would have been a great option, but sadly this will now have to wait until January at the earliest.
Manchester City decided to go with Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis as our RIGHT BACK
Pep always had greatest right back
✅Dani Alves
✅Phillip Lahm
✅Kyle Walker
It’s definitely not him, We are disappointed by the BOARD in this transfer window

Manchester City may struggle without a back-up No. 6
Another position in which City find themselves short is in defensive midfield, with just Rodri and Kalvin Phillips as conventional No. 6s.
Admittedly, City can use Nico Gonzalez, Mateo Kovacic and Tijjani Reijnders in the position, but all are better further up the pitch.
With Rodri still not fully match fit, Kovacic injured and Phillips surplus to requirements, City could have really done with another proper No. 6 in their ranks.

Loaning Claudio Echeverri out already looks like a mistake
City fans were surprised when the club loaned Claudio Echeverri out to Bayer Leverkusen, considering he looked more than capable of mounting a first-team challenge.
Now, with Rayan Cherki set for two months on the sidelines, Echeverri would have been the ideal player to step up in the Frenchman’s absence.
Sadly, City won’t be able to recall Echeverri until the January transfer window.
And to make things worse, Leverkusen have been drawn against City in the Champions League, and there is no rule to stop loanees playing against their parent clubs in Europe.
