Leeds United’s Anton Stach has been one of the best players for the team since his arrival from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim in the transfer window.
Anton Stach was arguably Leeds United’s best player against Everton, while also competing well physically in both the league games against Arsenal and Newcastle United.
A £19. 9 million arrival from Hoffenheim, Stach is the most expensive signing of the summer. It was a LUN suggestion that Leeds should make a move for Stach prior to them actually making a concrete move to sign him.
Stach is positionally versatile for Daniel Farke, granting Leeds the opportunity for more adaptability this season. Stach is also one of Leeds’ tallest players in a summer where they have signed numerous over 6’0″.

Anton Stach second to Man United’s Bruno Fernandes in impressive statistic
In so many ways, Stach is a ‘game changer’ signing for Leeds. However, it’s perhaps Stach’s surprising set-piece ability which has stood out so far. He has become the designated taker thus far.
His combination of being multi-faceted and versatile, as well as an absolute giant, is why he is undoubtedly Leeds’ best summer signing so far in this window.
One expert believes Stach is by far Leeds’ best signing, given that his combative nature and technical ability sets him apart from many of the pre-existing players in this Leeds squad.
Stach’s start at Leeds is underlined by the fact he is second only to Man United playmaker Bruno Fernandes in one key Premier League metric already, partly due to being the free-kick and corner taker.

Daniel Farke calls Anton Stach a ‘dream’ signing
Daniel Farke stated that the signing of Stach was “special” pre-match to Sky Sports after beating Everton, deeming him one of his “dream signings” this season at Elland Road.
“I’m excited about all of our signings, but with Anton, of course, there’s a special importance,” Farke said. “For us, it was crucial to strengthen the heart of the game with proven players – guys who have delivered at the top level, whether in the Premier League, Bundesliga, or La Liga.
“Anton 100% fits into this group. He’s already experienced for his age, and to earn call-ups for the German national team, you don’t just win that in a lottery – it shows his quality. He’s a proven player, mentally strong, intelligent, understands the game, and brings the physicality we need.
“He’s also very good on the ball, a pretty complex player overall, and honestly, one of my dream signings for this season. He’s had a really good pre-season, but of course, now comes the moment to prove it when the real stuff starts. Pre-season is nice, but it’s about delivering in competitive games.
“That’s why we signed him, and I’m confident he will show it. Let’s sing his praises after he’s put in some strong performances when it really counts – but for now, I can say I’m very happy with this signing.”
