A Twin Cities woman was found dead in a southeastern Minnesota campground over the weekend in what officials on Tuesday are calling suspicious circumstances.
Deputies were sent about 6 p.m. Saturday to Mac’s Park Place in Mazeppa regarding “a sudden death” at the campground near Lake Zumbro, the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The deputies found a woman dead in a camper but showing no obvious signs of trauma, the statement continued.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as 66-year-old Barbara McBride-Law of Lakeville.
“Authorities are still awaiting autopsy reports for \[a\] final determination of death,” the statement read. “It has been ruled suspicious at this point, until further information is obtained, which is standard practice.”
No arrests have been announced in connection with the death.
