'No chance' - Alexander Isak sent loud and clear Newcastle United message after Liverpool exit

Alexander Isak left Newcastle United under a real cloud - and it seems like he won’t be welcome back with Liverpool.

While the player took to social media to dig out an AI generated ‘thank you’ to Newcastle United fans - no mention of Eddie Howe - he stopped short of apologising for his inexcusable behaviour in his rebellious final summer in black and white. The player, of course, secured a deadline day British record transfer to Liverpool, winning his summer long battle with the club and ending his self-imposed strike as a result.

So, with all that in mind, we asked fans what they think of the striker and whether time will heal that divide? We also asked if fans ‘hate’ Isak for what he’s done? And here’s their answers.

NUFC fans have their say on Alexander Isak - will they forgive?

Matt Mitchell: "It's not the fact he wanted to leave. As much as it hurts, I get it, his chances of big trophies with Liverpool are far greater and we've been handsomely compensated for him. It's the complete distain he's showed to all that have supported him and plucked him from La Liga obscurity."

Robbie Campbell: "Isak will always be hated by the Toon Army and I. He became a goal machine under the stewardship of Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall. I hope karma stops his progress at Liverpool. Good Riddance."

James Taylor: "No he is finished with me, if and when he plays at the toon he will be booood for the whole game."

Alan Turnbull: "We will find out when we play them and Joe or Dan gets hands on him."

Ian Hart: "His betrayal of Newcastle United undid some of the great things Isak achieved as a striker at the Toon. I don't blame for wanting to join Liverpool, but downing tools at Newcastle United was wrong way to go about move. From being a hero at the Toon he's undone all that & gone from a Hero to Zero on Tyneside..."

Lynn Craig: "Could have handled the situation so much better. Lost all respect for him."

Debs Willsher: "I don’t know ask me in a year..."

Kevin Sayers: "He has tarnished his reputation with the toon fans forever. His Conduct and also how he let his team mates down is just unbelievable."

Linda Kenworthy: "Hate is an awful word to use it's football not a life and death situation. I do think this could have been handled better by the player. I do think something needs to be done so these situations can be avoided in the future."

Neil Hodgson: "No chance I change my mind. Unforgivable."

James Holohan: "Yes he will."

Lesley Wraith: "He won't be welcomed back the Newcastle but he won't care because the man has no conscience to him it's all about me me me, yeah players can move on but there's a right way to do it and that's not the path he chose, hasn't even got the decency to say thank you to Eddie and the staff."

Sandy Dunn: "Never will be forgiven."

Sean Rowson: "I don’t hate it hate pretty strong but massively disappointed, just the way he’s left and then to not even thank the fans or anything like that. I just think it’s really poor, is a young man. I hope he’s been badly advised and it’s not his entire attitude himself, but we will see."
