Patrick Bamford transfer collapse confirmed – Move off

Patrick Bamford is looking for a new club after he was allowed to leave Leeds United as a free agent towards the end of the transfer window. It seemed he could be joining a new team soon, but that move has now collapsed.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke confirmed early in the summer transfer window that Bamford would not be part of his plans at Elland Road in the Premier League, and he was asked to find a new club. However, the Whites received no offers for the striker throughout the summer.

The Whites ultimately decided to terminate his contract towards the end of the transfer window to allow him to leave as a free agent, and move his bumped wages off their books.

Leeds’ decision to part ways with Bamford on a free transfer has been backed by many, but the striker was left disappointed with how his departure from Elland Road was handled. After all, he played a pivotal role in their 2020 promotion to the Premier League and delivered key performances in the top flight that followed.

Patrick Bamford will not be joining Scottish champions Celtic

It emerged on Tuesday that Scottish champions have made contact with Bamford’s representatives to discuss a potential move to Parkhead on a free transfer.

Brendan Rodgers failed to sign a striker towards the end of the window, and Adam Idah was allowed to join Swansea City in the Championship.

However, Bamford won’t be joining Celtic as the Scottish giants have signed another striker on a free transfer.

Celtic confirmed the arrival of former Leicester City and Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer on Tuesday night.

With Iheanacho in the building, Celtic are no longer looking to sign one more striker, and their interest in Bamford has faded away.

The former Leeds striker remains on the hunt for a new club and could be tempted to drop into the Championship, with Wrexham showing strong interest in securing his signature.

Bamford will have to prove his fitness to potential suitors as his injury struggles over the years are well-documented, and any deal to sign him would be highly incentivised.
