The international break came at the perfect time for Manchester United as they won against Burnley, but also because Matheus Cunha came off injured.
Matheus Cunha was having another one of his maverick games against Burnley when he pulled up with an apparent hamstring issue in the first half.
The Brazilian was immediately taken off by Ruben Amorim, with the Man Utd manager cutting a concerned figure after the game in his update.
Cunha withdrew from his Brazil duties to give him two weeks to rest and recuperate, and he has now sent his first message since the setback. It hints at a boost for Man Utd.

Matheus Cunha injury update
Cunha has become the heartbeat of Man Utd’s attack in a short time, which speaks volumes about his mentality and his quality.
As Benjamin Sesko gets to grips with English football, Cunha has deputised as the striker, a role that he has performed well in despite it not being his preferred one.
Therefore, the whole of Old Trafford held its breath when he went down with a non-contact muscle injury against Burnley.
Breaking his silence on Instagram, Cunha has now posted an encouraging injury update that will come as music to the ears of Man Utd fans.

Cunha wrote, “What an incredible environment, it’s great to be here. I’ll be back soon, always with joy and gratitude. Thanks for all the messages.”
Cunha hinting that he’ll be “back soon” means that he’s probably received a diagnosis for his injury, and it’s not very serious.
If he can be back for the gauntlet of Man City-Chelsea-Brentford after the international break, it would be a huge boost.
Harry Maguire reacted with two heart emojis to Cunha’s update, so there is clear confidence in the United dressing room that Cunha has avoided the worst.
Ruben Amorim is being cautious after last season
It can be argued that the downfall of multiple Man Utd managers after Sir Alex has been partly brought upon by injury issues.
Whether it’s down to a lack of professionalism or just plain bad luck, many managers at Old Trafford would have related to Ruben Amorim’s pain last season.
He was having to fill his bench with academy graduates for many games last season, and that is the scenario he desperately wants to avoid a repeat of.
Therefore, he is being extra cautious this season, which is why it’s fair to assume that Cunha was taken off before his injury could get worse.
The same happened with Mason Mount, who came off at half-time in the same match, and with Sesko, who has been handled with kid gloves so far.
Nobody will be complaining about being extra cautious if it results in lesser injuries and better results this season.
