September 3 – Chinese home appliance brand Midea is to take over as Barcelona’s sleeve sponsor starting next year for the 2026-27 season and running for five years to the end of the 2030-31 campaign.
The sponsorship is worth a reported €60 million of the five years, and sees Midea take over from current sleeve sponsor, TP Vision, manufacturer of Philips display and audio products, which has used the sponsorhip for its Ambilight TV brand.
Midea will be designated the club’s Main Partner and Official Home Appliances Partner and will see its logo on the left sleeve of the Barca first team jersey, both on matchday and during training.
The agreement was signed by FC Barcelona first vice president Rafael Yuste and president of Midea International Business Lewis Fu yesterday (September 2) at the club’s offices.
“Midea’s leadership in the field of smart home solutions and its commitment to research and innovation are perfectly aligned with the spirit of an FC Barcelona that looks to the future. This alliance once again demonstrates the power of the Barça brand as a magnet for companies from around the world that see FC Barcelona as the best platform for their projects,” said Yuste.
Midea is no stranger to football sponsorship, already having had a club partnership with Manchester City since 2020.
In Asia, Midea has expanded its sponsorship to the Asian Football Confederation’s national team competitions, while it was a tournament sponsor of CAF’s recently completed Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
The Midea Group, established in 1968, employs more than 190,000 globally, and had revenue of $57.5 billion in 2024.
