Ipswich Town transfers: Every deal completed in the 2025 summer transfer window

Ipswich Town were relegated after just one season in the Premier League, but Kieran McKenna’s side will look to replicate their 2023/24 success by rising from the Championship. As a result, there have been players going both in and out of ITFC over the past few months.

The Tractor Boys saw several big-name transfers during the transfer window, which has led to the club having to find replacements.

With the transfer window now shut and squads finalised, we take a look at Ipswich Town’s business…

Ipswich Town transfers: Ins

Sindre Walle Egeli – £17.4 m

Ipswich Town broke their transfer record during the last week of the window, to sign 19-year-old Norwegian winger Sindre Walle Egeli from Danish club Nordsjaelland.

Kasey McAteer – £12m

Making the switch between the relegated Premier League clubs, Ireland international winger Kasey McAteer joined ITFC from Leicester City.

Azor Matusiwa – £10m

There was a notable pick-up for Ipswich Town in midfield, as Dutchman Azor Matusiwa swapped Ligue 1 side Rennes for the Tractor Boys.

Marcelino Nunez – £7.5m

One of the most controversial moves of the transfer window was Town’s signing of Marcelino Nunez. He made the move from their East Anglian rivals Norwich City.

Darnell Furlong – £3.5m

Ipswich Town picked up an experienced Championship defender in Darnell Furlong, who has spent the last six years at West Brom, and before that, four years at QPR.

Ashley Young – Free transfer

Another experienced arrival is Ashley Young, with the 40-year-old joining the club following the expiration of his contract at Everton.

David Button – Free transfer

ITFC bolstered their goalkeeping options with the arrival of David Button from League One club Reading.

Jens Cajuste – Loan

The first loan addition is Jens Cajuste from Napoli. The Swede returned to Ipswich Town after spending last season on loan at the club.

Chuba Akpom – Loan

The Tractor Boys fought off competition from their Championship rivals Birmingham City to secure the loan signing of Chuba Akpom, who is a proven goal scorer in the division from his time at Middlesbrough.

Cedric Kipre – Loan

Cedric Kipre makes a temporary return to English football, with the defender leaving West Brom to join Reims in 2024.

Ivan Azon – Loan

The final Ipswich Town incoming is Spanish striker Ivan Azon from Italian side Como, who has spent the last five years at Real Zaragoza.

Ipswich Town transfers: Out

Omari Hutchinson – £37.7m

Ipswich’s biggest sale of the summer was Omari Hutchinson’s move to Nottingham Forest, after impressing in the Premier League last season.

Liam Delap – £34.8m

Another player who got a big move after impressing last season was Liam Delap, who joined Chelsea, where he has already won the Club World Cup.

Nathan Broadhead – £7.6m

Nathan Broadhead made the switch to newly promoted side Wrexham, where he became the Welsh side’s record signing.

Luke Woolfenden – Undisclosed

A departure on deadline day was Ipswich Town academy graduate Luke Woolfenden, who also joined another Championship side, joining Frank Lampard’s Coventry City.

Sam Morsy – Undisclosed

After four years at ITFC, club captain Sam Morsy departed the club over the summer, joining Kuwait SC on a lucrative contract.

Chiedozie Ogbene – Loan

Winger Chiedozie Ogbene left the club on loan to join Sheffield United after only playing nine times since his arrival last summer. His minutes were limited injury and the hope is he can get back to his best with the Blades.

Conor Chaplin – Loan

Conor Chaplin left the club on deadline day to return to Portsmouth for the season in an eye-catching deal.

Arijanet Muric – Loan

Goalkeeper Arijanet Muric will spend the rest of the season in Italy as he has joined Serie A side Sassuolo. His Ipswich Town departure was widely expected after a torrid 2024/25 season.

Ali Al-Hamadi – Loan

Iraqi striker Ali Al-Hamadi confirmed another loan exit as he joined League One side Luton Town in search of more game time.

Cieran Slicker – Loan

Young goalkeeper Cieran Slicker is looking to pick up important experience as he has joined League Two outfit Barnet on loan.
