Obr Staff Roundtable: What Will the Cleveland Browns Record Be in 2025

Week one of the NFL regular season is finally here, and the Cleveland Browns are set to open the season this Sunday at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. With the season kicking off, there's no better time than now to give record predictions for the Browns in 2025. Here is how the rest of The OBR and I think the Browns' record will be this year.

Jacob Roach:

The Browns' defense is poised to be awesome this year, as long as they stay healthy and the defensive line lives up to its talent level. My bold prediction for the Browns' season is that the defensive line will set the franchise record for most sacks in a single season by a decent bit, with at least 55 sacks. I'm concerned about the depth at corner, especially with no great answer at nickel, but this front seven and a decent safety group will help make up for those concerns. Carson Schwesinger is going to have a great year, and I can't wait to see him.

The Browns' offense has to be able to run the ball with a high level of success to be competitive in 2025. Not sure when we will see Judkins, but Sampson and Ford can produce well if the offensive line bounces back. Joe Flacco is a wild card; he will make some crazy throws that'll be great for both the Browns and sometimes the opponents. But there's enough here to fight for a playoff spot.

Record Prediction: 9-8

Jack Duffin:

It is worth starting with what the Vegas betting line is, and that is 5-12. Personally, I think they will outperform this with 6, 7, or 8 wins.

I always tend to look at the season in four groups, as you will have times where you win games you should normally lose, and other games you lose that you should win.

Bengals, Ravens, Packers, Lions 1-3

Vikings, Steelers, Dolphins, Pats 2-2

Jets, Ravens, Raiders, 49ers 2-2

Titans, Bears, Bills, Steelers, Bengals 2-3

I can see the team manipulating their record towards the end of the season and finishing with the first overall pick. If Winston manages to play the second half of last season, there is very little chance they have the second pick in the 2025 draft. If they need a quarterback, then they could prioritise the 2026 draft over 2025 wins.

Prediction: 7-10
