Joe Rodon has been forced to withdraw from international duty.
Leeds fans are already pessimistic about the season ahead, and those fears were only amplified by the 49ers’ inability to make the most of the summer transfer window.
10 new arrivals checked in at Elland Road, though the majority of them arrived as defensive reinforcements at the start of the window.
With that said, that priority could pay off as news of Rodon’s withdrawal from the Welsh squad emerged on Wednesday afternoon.

Daniel Farke fears come to fruition as Joe Rodon faces injury scare
After the lack of activity in the transfer window, Daniel Farke will have at least been hoping that his squad return from international duty unscathed, though that may not be the case.

As per Adam Pope on X, Leeds star and Wales international Rodon has been forced to withdraw from the squad through injury, though it’s unknown what the injury is.
Pope said: “Rodon withdraws from Wales squad with injury. I’m told it’s not serious & he should be ok to face Fulham.”
The fact that it is not believed to be serious is a huge relief for the Whites, though worst-case scenario, Leeds do have players who could step up in his absence.
Jaka Bijol is still waiting for his chance at Leeds, with Seb Bornauw also waiting in the wings at Elland Road.

Leeds United cannot afford any injuries
In a weird way, it’s a good thing that the injury scare involved a defender, given the fact that Leeds failed to add to their attack in the latter stages of the summer window.
The Whites have scored just one goal in the Premier League so far this season, and that was Lukas Nmecha’s controversial penalty in the win against Everton.
However, Farke will not want to lose any of his players to the dreaded international break, and all being well, it looks as though he won’t.
However, once again, questions will emerge about how necessary it is for players to embark on international duty so early into a season.
