Leeds United fans will not only be reeling from the disappointment of failing to sign Harry Wilson, but they will also be concerned after Wales announced Joe Rodon was leaving their training camp.
Ethan Ampadu is already missing from Craig Bellamy’s squad, after suffering an MCL injury. Ao Tanaka is sidelined right now, and there were doubts over Gabriel Gudmundsson after the draw against Newcastle.
So, the last thing Leeds fans want to hear right now is an injury to a player who Daniel Farke considers one of the first names on the team sheet. Well, Wales have confirmed Joe Rodon’s withdrawal today.
Wales are in action against Kazakhstan in World Cup qualifying on Thursday, before facing Jesse Marsch’s Canada on Tuesday night. Rodon has pulled out of the Wales squad and Graham Smyth has an update.

Graham Smyth shares if Joe Rodon will be fit to face Fulham
Following the international break, Leeds play four Premier League games before the October break. It begins with Fulham at Craven Cottage, which could well see Leeds face Wilson after failing to sign him.
Taking to X, Smyth shared if Rodon will be fit to play against Fulham. The defender’s actual injury is still unknown but Smyth says it is ‘expected’ that Rodon will be fit to face Marco Silva’s side in 10 days.

He said, in two posts: “Joe Rodon withdrawn from the Wales squad but expected to be fine for the Fulham game. Bellamy might give further details.”

Smyth then posted: “No reason given for Rodon’s withdrawal yet but was noticeable in Saturday’s game that he was caught by a heavy and slightly late mid-air challenge.”
Leeds desperately need Joe Rodon to be fit, or relegation is real
Following the end of the transfer window, Jeff Stelling claims Leeds have made only one good signing in Sean Longstaff. Both Stelling and Ally McCoist outlined that they are concerned for Leeds’ survival hopes.
Micah Richards agrees, claiming “something is missing” from Leeds’ squad at the moment. Wilson might have changed that. But typically, Wilson has not arrived and a relegation scrap looks inevitable for Leeds.
Keeping the best players fit is absolutely paramount to any chance Leeds have of survival and Rodon is right at the top of that list. Hopefully, Ampadu joins Rodon in returning in time ready for Fulham.
