Julio Enciso’s agent has insisted that he was always going to Strasbourg, which is more of a football city than Brighton.
Pedro Aldave has been [speaking to Rock&Pop Paraguay](https://x.com/rockandpop955) about his client after he secured a deadline day move to Strasbourg from Brighton.
Enciso had been linked with a move away from Brighton throughout the summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town.
The 21-year-old was not a part of their plans moving forwards, despite having once been highly rated by the Seagulls after an €11.6m move from Libertad in 2022.
A series of injuries have limited his impact on the pitch, though, and he’s now moved on to France with Strasbourg. The long-term idea is that he could end up at Chelsea, who are also owned by BlueCo and have built up a strong working relationship between the two clubs.
The move was scheduled to happen earlier this summer but was cancelled when Strasbourg claimed that Enciso had failed a medical. It was eventually done on Monday, and it seems his agent is delighted, even aiming a little jibe at Brighton with his comments.
_“It got complicated at one point, there were back and forths, luckily Julio can now show his football. He wanted a change of scenery,”_ he said.
_“Julio wanted to stay in Europe. Palmeiras made an enquiry, of course they’ll tempt you, Gustavo Gómez was kind to him. But he wanted to stay in Europe._
_“Strasbourg is a football city, much more so than Brighton. He was always going to go to Strasbourg for a year._
_“I think playing 35 matches between now and the World Cup will be the best thing for him.”_
