There are concerns about the injury that Man United attacking midfielder Mason Mount sustained against Burnley, according to reports.
The United Stand claim that the club’s medical staff are not optimistic that the 26-year-old will make a swift return to action, unlike Matheus Cunha.
Head coach Ruben Amorim said that Mount was substituted at half-time as a precaution, having played on after picking up the injury early in the first half. However, it appears he could be set for another spell on the sidelines, which has prompted several supporters on X to react with disappointment:

Oof, that’s rough. Think they’ll recover in time or will the derby see some backup players step up?

Mount? I'd hate for him to hit another long-term injury setback. Bro was just getting his mojo back.

Mount could potentially miss the Manchester derby
The midfielder has just 10 days to return to fitness so making his return against Manchester City may have been a long shot anyway.
There are also two other games this month against Chelsea and Brentford, and it remains to be seen if Mount will be in contention for those fixtures.
Will Cunha be available for Man City v United?
It has been suggested that the prognosis for the Brazilian’s hamstring injury is better than first feared, but the recovery time for even a lower-grade tear is still a few weeks.
There is a chance that Amorim could risk Cunha’s fitness in the derby, but that could prove counterproductive in the long term if he re-injures himself.
