The Detroit Lions can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa.
After TeSlaa was notably absent from Tuesday’s practice ahead of Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, head coach Dan Campbell provided some clarity Wednesday morning. Speaking on Costa & Jansen, Campbell explained that TeSlaa was simply dealing with “a little bug.”
Lions coach Dan Campbell said on @costaandjansen that rookie WR Isaac TeSlaa missed practice yesterday with "a little bug." TeSlaa expected back in the building today, Campbell said he should be OK.

The rookie wideout, who many expect to play a key role following the trade of veteran Tim Patrick, is already back in the building and should be fine moving forward.

A Minor Setback for a Major Opportunity
For a moment, there was plenty of speculation about TeSlaa’s absence. With the Lions’ depth chart thin at wide receiver, fans were rightfully curious, even a little nervous, about whether the undrafted rookie was facing something more serious.
Instead, this looks like just a minor speed bump. Campbell reassured that TeSlaa is “OK” and expected to be good to go. That’s welcome news for Detroit, who may need the young pass catcher early in the season to help complement Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
Why It Matters
TeSlaa has quietly become one of the more intriguing players on the Lions’ roster. His strong preseason earned him a spot on the 53-man roster, and with Campbell praising his work ethic, he’s on track to see the field sooner than many expected.
For now, fans can rest easy knowing this wasn’t an injury issue, just an illness that should quickly pass.
Bottom line: TeSlaa is back, and the Lions’ offense looks ready to roll into Sunday’s showdown with the Packers at full strength.
