Eagles Called to Action With Shocking Week 1 Request From NFL Analyst

On Thursday night, the Philadelphia Eagles will ring in the 2025 NFL season with a matchup against their longtime rival in the Dallas Cowboys. Before these two teams take the field, one analyst has a shocking request for the defending champions.

It will be a big night for the Eagles, as the banner for their Super Bowl victory will be hung in the rafters. Fans will likely be in their seats early for this ceremony, but it doesn't seem like the players will be in attendance. Earlier this week, head coach Nick Sirianni stated that the team is going to remain in the locker room as they continue to build a proper mindset ahead of the new season.

Over the past few years, the Eagles have constructed a play that very few teams have been able to stop. The "Tush Push" has become a big topic of conversation in the league, with many teams thinking the play is dangerous and should be banned.

It was put to a vote this offseason, and the final ruling was that the play can continue to be used.

In light of the discourse, NFL analyst Kyle Brandt wants to see the Eagles stick it to their critics on Thursday night. While on Good Morning Football Tuesday, he urged them to run the Tush Push as their first play of the season.

"There's just one thing. It's for the Philadelphia Eagles to take the kickoff, touchback, and for the first offense for the first play of the season and run the Tush Push," Brandt said. "It's petty as hell and that's why I like it. I think that pettiness and that vindictiveness is something in Nick Sirianni's DNA. It is something in the Eagles, it's something in Philadelphia's DNA going back to our Founding Fathers."

This is something that seems right up Sirianni's alley, but the chances of it happening are rather unlikely. The team has preached its focus on a clean slate ahead of their quest for a second straight championship. With the Eagles setting their sights on the big stage again, they'll be aiming to come out and make a different statement against the Cowboys Thursday.

The Eagles and Cowboys are slated to kick off the regular season at 8:20 PM Thursday evening.
