Man Utd signed Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.
United paid an initial fee of €76.5m (£66.26m) plus a further €8.5m (£7.36m) in bonuses to sign the Slovenian striker, while they will also face Leipzig in a future friendly match as part of the transfer agreement. Ruben Amorim wanted to refresh his attacking options and made it a priority to add a striker to his squad during the summer.
Sesko had appeared from the bench across United’s first three matches of the new Premier League season and played the entirety of their Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town a week ago. The 22-year-old has yet to score a goal for his club, but is hopeful that will change after the September international break.

Amorim is slowly easing Sesko into life at Old Trafford and the striker believes he is getting ‘better and faster’ in training, while he is also improving his ‘mentality’ in Manchester.
“The level of the matches is certainly much higher, the players and teammates are also at a higher level. After all, English football is at the highest level in the world of football,” he told Ekipa while on international duty.
“But I am very much looking forward to the coming period, also because I am getting better and faster in every training session, and I am also progressing in my football mentality every day. I wanted to move to England and fortunately my wish came true.”
Sesko could make himself a United hero if he shines in the Manchester derby against City next week and the summer signing can’t wait to face one of the best teams in the world. He added: “It’s true, it’s an incredibly big match coming up. There will simply be some pressure on both sides to just win this match. There’s still quite a bit to go until this match, but we’re definitely looking forward to a top-notch match.”
