Paul Scholes is deeply critical of one thing that he has spotted at Manchester United amid the Red Devils’ 2025-26 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford.
Manchester United face two tough tests in the season once the international break ends, with the Red Devils facing Manchester City at the Etihad on 14th September.
Following the Red Devils’ visit to the Etihad for the Manchester derby, United will host Chelsea for a Premier League showdown at Old Trafford on 20th September.
United have endured a tricky start to the 2025-26 season under Ruben Amorim, with the Red Devils winning one match from their opening three league contests.
The Red Devils have picked up one draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage and one defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Premier League campaign so far.

Ruben Amorim has been backed heavily in the summer transfer window with five new signings, including forward options Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
However, Paul Scholes has questioned why Ineos chose to sign Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha when other areas of the team needed bolstering this summer.
The 50-year-old former TNT Sports pundit suggested that Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo could have played in the two No 10 roles in Amorim’s tactical system.
Speaking on The Overlap, Scholes said: “Bringing two number tens [Cunha and Mbeumo] was that really necessary?
“You think you’ve got Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo can do that… If you’ve done that and wasted a bit of money and not been able to get a midfield player or a goalkeeper, it’s not great recruitment-wise, is it?”

Bryan Mbeumo has mainly played in the right-sided No 10 role and Matheus Cunha being out on the left, but the pair have also featured up top since the pre-season.
Mason Mount has played as a false nine and dropped deeper at times after Mbeumo and Cunha’s arrival, while Kobbie Mainoo has lost his place in the United starting XI.
The signings of Mbeumo and Cunha have seen Bruno Fernandes step into the midfield pivot, with Ruben Amorim preferring Casemiro ahead of Mainoo for his partner.
Scholes suggested that United needed to strengthen the midfield with two more players and that the current shot-stoppers are a “massive” problem for them.
“I can’t make better what a lot of the problems are in the team, which are two central midfield players, and the goalkeepers are massive,” he continued.
The Red Devils signed off their summer window with their fifth and final acquisition on deadline day, with United signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
