Alexander Isak bottles media duties ahead of representing Sweden days after his record-breaking …

· 3 September 2025, 17:00

**Former Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has decided to shirk his media duties while on international duty with Sweden.**

The £125 million Liverpool striker has linked up with his national side ahead of two World Cup qualifiers and has opted not to face the media ahead of the games.

It's probably a wise move on the player's part, as he would likely be grilled more about his acrimonious split with Newcastle than anything to do with Sweden.

The 25-year-old's only acknowledgement of his former club to this point has been a statement on social media that someone has run through an AI checker and found to be 99% likely to have been spewed out by AI.

Alexander Isak is desperate to avoid reality

--------------------------------------------

It seems that the striker is desperately trying to avoid having to do any kind of real talk about his time at Newcastle, with the Swedish FA facilitating his desire to duck the media duties, with Sweden's press officer, Petra Thoren, saying:

> “Alexander will not do any media ahead of the match against Slovenia. We are in dialogue with Alexander on this issue. But given the circumstances of his arrival late on Monday, with the World Cup qualifiers just around the corner, he wants to focus on preparations and getting started properly and preparing for the matches.”

After throwing his weight around to get his move from Newcastle, it seems the power has gone to his head, and he feels like he's above everything now.

Alexander Isak seems determined to go scorched earth

----------------------------------------------------

We are absolutely convinced at this point that he'd have nothing positive to say about Newcastle after the last year at the club, seeing as he clearly believes he's been the victim in all that happened.

We'd naively hoped that once he'd got his way, there'd be a line drawn under everything and civility would be restored, but clearly Isak wants to go down a different path.

Is anyone else doing that post-break-up thing of convincing yourself you never liked him anyway?
