Leeds United Premier League prediction after 'we'll take that' verdict given

The size Leeds United's Premier League survival bid won't become clear for another few months, despite a positive start to the season for Daniel Farke's side, according to ex-Leeds defender Danny Mills.

The Whites have recored two positive results at Elland Road, beating Everton 1-0 on the opening weekend, and then holding Champions League qualifiers Newcastle United to a goalless draw last time out.

However, the 5-0 demolition at Arsenal, plus the fact Leeds have not scored a goal from open play yet - Lukas Nmecha's goal against Everton came from the penalty spot - means there is still plenty of uncertainty over where this side sits among their Premier League rivals.

Leeds go to Fulham in the first game after the international break, before another away day Wolves, with an Elland Road date against AFC Bournnemouth rounding off September's fixtures.

With fellow promoted sides Sunderland and Burnley also recording early wins, it looks like the survival battle will be an interesting one, and it's something Mills feels will take shape over the coming weeks.

“If you said to Leeds United, you get four points from the first three games, we will take that,” Mills told talkSPORT.

“All the teams that came up have won a game. They have all started better than some people would have thought. I guess it will be very difficult for them, and they will have slumps.

“In another seven or eight games, the league will find a way to sort itself out. I expect the three teams that came up to be in the bottom seven or eight teams. It’s who can survive out of those.”
