NFL 'RedZone' Undergoing Big Change for 2025 Season: Scott Hanson Confirms Commercials Are Happening
NFL fans won’t like this update, but it’s not exactly shocking news.
Scott Hanson, host of the the fan fave RedZone broadcast that features seven hours of football highlighting all the touchdowns made on NFL Sundays, is undergoing a change.
Scott made an appearance on the Wednesday (September 3) episode of The Pat McAfee Show where he subtly announced that the show will now feature commercials.
Before making the announcement, Scott reminded everyone that he is not in charge of the business decisions at the network.
He said, “The business folks handle the business. And I have no say over different elements that could or could not be in the show. We’re not going to sacrifice any great football for any of the business side of it. The business folks are going to handle the business, and we play the hand that’s dealt to us. But we will not miss a touchdown. We will not say, ‘Oh, OK, this is first-and-goal from the five, but let’s sell some pizza or pickup trucks.’”
He then revealed that the tagline for the 2025 NFL Redzone season will be “seven hours of RedZone football starts now” instead of the previous tagline, “seven hours of commercial free football starts now.”
Scott used to host seven straight hours without a break, but now, it appears as if there will be commercials in some capacity during the broadcast.
The first 2025 NFL Sunday is this coming Sunday (September 7).
