We Predict Man United's Next 5 League Fixtures - How Many Points Could Amorim's Side Pick Up?

The last-gasp win against Burnley has given Man United supporters something to hold on to heading into the international break.

A draw or a defeat against a newly-promoted side would have prompted more debate about Ruben Amorim’s future, especially after crashing out of the Carabao Cup to Grimsby Town.

As it is, fans can look forward to upcoming fixtures with slightly more optimism. So, how many points could the Red Devils pick up over the next five Premier League matches? Read below as we predict the results:

1) Man City vs Man United – Sunday 14th September: DRAW

Their Manchester rivals are not exactly firing on all cylinders, having lost their last two Premier League fixtures.

If Tottenham can go to the Etihad and get the three points, there is nothing stopping Amorim’s team from doing the same thing.

However, it is a derby away from home, so we would expect this match to end in a score draw.

2) Man United vs Chelsea – Saturday 20th September: LOSS

A lot hinges on who is fit for this match. If Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount are not available, United’s chances of getting anything from the game are greatly diminished.

The Red Devils don’t have much depth in attack this season, with the club having allowed Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Jadon Sancho and Antony to leave in the final few days of the transfer window.

Chelsea, in contrast, have plenty of firepower, having scored 7 times over the last two games. This could be another home defeat for Amorim.
