Leeds United transfer rumours including Josh Brownhill and Patrick Bamford updates

The latest transfer talk from Leeds United after what was a busy summer transfer window at Elland Road.

One of Leeds United’s summer transfer window targets is reportedly set to make an imminent decision on his future as he remains a free agent following his departure from his former club earlier this summer.

TeamTalk have reported former Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill has been the subject of interest from clubs across the Premier League, Championship and around Europe since his departure from Turf Moor was confirmed earlier this summer and is set to make a decision over his next move this week. The report also suggests Brownhill has rejected overtures from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City and Leeds are believed to be one of the number of clubs that have monitored his situation. Reports in Saudi Arabia have claimed Pro League club Al-Shabab have offered Brownhill a contract worth around £100,000-per-week, an offer that would be beyond what Leeds can offer the midfielder.

He said: “I don't think right now there's any need so great that it's worth going to the free agent market to fill it, in part because I doubt the right player is there. It's a great market for injuries. So last year brought Josuha [Guilavogui] on. We had an emergency crisis with injuries. But beyond that, it's probably wait and see. And you know, once we get through the first 10 games, you're eight games from January. And so if we have to evaluate we'll use that.”

The Herald have claimed the Scottish Premiership champions are still hoping to add a striker to their squad after failing to complete deadline day moves for Denmark international Kasper Dolberg and former Leicester City and Middlesbrough striker Kelechi Iheanacho. The Hoops have left themselves short at the top end of the pitch after confirming the sale of Adam Idah to Championship club Swansea City and that has reportedly led them to ‘make contact’ with former Leeds frontman Bamford.

With the summer transfer window closing for business on Monday, Celtic are now limited to raiding the free agent market and Bamford and former Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis are said to be amongst the options being considered ahead of the 11pm Europa League deadline.

Speaking on his exit from Leeds, Bamford posted on Instagram: "Right now, with the way it has come to an end and the way things have been handled recently it is all too raw for me to reflect on immediately. But in the years to come I will look back at this period of my life with nothing but joy and pride and be super happy with what I have achieved. I want to thank all the managers I played under but especially Marcelo Bielsa. I don't know where the club would be without the foundations he laid."
