Despite being regarded as one of Real Madrid academy’s finest defensive talents in recent years, Jacobo Ramon made a decision this summer that raised many eyebrows.
The youngster left Real Madrid in favour of a permanent move to Italian outfit Como, managed by former Spanish international Cesc Fabregas.
Ramon is already home to a host of talented young players, including another former RM Castilla talent in Nico Paz.

In a recent interview, Jacobo Ramon was asked about his decision to quit Real Madrid this past summer, in favour of a move to Como.
In response, the young defender admitted he wanted to play regular football, which is why he decided to move on.
“I am very happy with my decision. I felt that the time had come to move on. Real Madrid is the best club in history, but I needed to play regularly and get minutes. So, I chose to move to Como, and I have never regretted it,” he said (h/t MARCA).

Ramon could have indeed found it difficult to find regular game-time at Real Madrid, who had reinforced their defensive unit strongly this summer by bringing in Trent, Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras.
Huijsen has already become indespensable figure in central defence, where the likes of Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, Eder Militao and Raul Asencio are competing, although the latter has recently been linked with a move to Besiktas.
At Como, though, Ramon will face competition from the likes of Diego Carlos, Stefan Posch, Marc-Oliver Kempf and Edoardo Goldaniga.
The young Spaniard has started in Como’s last two matches, however, and will hope to continue his partnership with Kempf when the season restart after the international break.
