It will no longer be “seven hours of commercial free football” for NFL RedZone.
NFL Network host Scott Hanson confirmed on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday that RedZone will feature commercials this season. The slogan will now be “seven hours of RedZone football starts now.”
“I have no say over different elements that could or could not be in the show,” Hanson said. “I realize that might be a slight change to some of you, but that’s what the catchphrase will be going forward.”
The NFL tested commercials during RedZone in Week 15 of the 2024 season with split-screen ads.
RedZone has been known to be commercial-free since it debuted in 2009. The rights to the show were acquired by ESPN in August.
