Gabriel Jesus has not been included in Arsenal’s Champions League squad for the group stages of the competition.
The Gunners named a 24 man squad from 25 available, leaving the Brazilian out, which suggests he’s still some way from making a return to first team action. He suffered an ACL rupture in January, and while he has returned to training, it looks as if there remains way to go before he’s ready to play again.
Max Dowman has been included in the ‘A List’ squad, as his age means he hasn’t, by UEFA’s rules, spent three years in training in order to be included in the ‘B List’, on which Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have been included. That’s due to the fact he’s 15, and if he appears before December 31st he’d become the youngest ever Champions League player.

Changes to List A can only be made before the round of 16 in February 2026, when clubs can register a maximum of three new players – including new signings or players returning from injury.
Players U21, like Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri, are named on the B-list along with multiple Academy players. A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, January 1 2004, and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday, or for a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year.
