Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers have a tough assignment right out of the gate of the 2025 NFL regular season, as they are hosting the two-time defending NFC North champions Detroit Lions, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay this coming Sunday.
But the Packers have all the confidence in the world going into the new season. For one, they just won some sort of a jackpot in the offseason when they landed superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys last week.
Parsons will have all eyes on him as he makes his debut with his new team. However, the Lions also have a defensive weapon making his first appearance after a long while for this coming weekend’s contest, with defensive end and one-time Pro Bowler Aidan Hutchinson expected to be on the field versus the Packers.

The Packers are way of Hutchinson, who played in only five games in 2024 due to a devastating leg injury.
“It shows up all over the tape, in both run game and in the pass game,” Green Bay head coach LaFleur said (h/tMike Spofford of the Green Bay’s website). “That’s pretty special to have a guy that’s capable of doing that. He’s a relentless competitor. He causes a lot of havoc.”
Love believes that Green Bay can contain the former Michigan Wolverines quarterback hunter.
Wrote Spofford: “Love vowed the Packers will have a plan for him, and be ready for wherever he lines up.”
Love got good protection in the pocket in 2024, as the Packers were third in the NFL witha 4.48 percent offensive sack rate. He was also just sacked once in two meetings last year with Detroit, though, both games did not feature Hutchinson.
