Harry Maguire and Casemiro are among the big names currently poised to depart Manchester United on free transfers next summer.

Both players have just 12 months remaining on their contracts, leaving club bosses with crucial decisions to make regarding their futures. United have just concluded a frantic summer transfer window that saw them splash out over £200million. Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko all joined to strengthen the Red Devils' attacking options.

Goalkeeper Senne Lammens also sealed a deadline day switch from Royal Antwerp. A fresh midfielder was also on United's wishlist, but that acquisition may have to be delayed until January at the earliest, or potentially next summer. United must also decide the fate of several stars whose contracts are expiring. Maguire represents their most high-profile potential free agent.

The England centre-back cost £80million when he arrived from Leicester in 2019, but could walk away for nothing. He has already voiced his desire for fresh terms at Old Trafford, reports the Mirror.

He said: "I'm sure over the next few months they'll sit down and we'll have a conversation about where we want to go and if they want to extend, but the transfer window will open again in January.

"I have something in my mind about what I want to do and what I want to be. I don't want to put it out there to everybody but it's an amazing club to play for and you'd be silly if you wanted to jump out of it as soon as you could."

Alongside Maguire, former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro's contract is also set to expire next summer, although there is an option to extend it until 2027. The Brazilian was signed for an initial fee of £60m in 2022.

However, his time at Old Trafford has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Ruben Amorim confessed last season that Casemiro struggled to fit into his system, before making a dramatic about-face.

The duo reportedly earn a combined weekly wage of £565,000, leaving club executives with a difficult decision over whether to offer them new contracts or let them go.

In other news, left-back Tyrell Malacia's contract is also due to expire next June. The Dutchman's stint at Old Trafford has been marred by injuries and it seems highly likely that he will depart. The defender was linked with a move away over the summer but failed to secure a new club.

Lastly, veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton is the final player whose contract expires next summer. He re-joined the club this summer and is a respected figure in the dressing room, but with more talent coming in at his position, he could transition into a coaching role.
