**The transfer window slammed shut on Monday evening, and clubs will no longer be able to strengthen their squads in any meaningful way until January.**
Free agents are, though, able to secure moves at any time, and some Premier League teams will be exploring the market to gauge who can be snapped up.
There are several high-profile names who are currently unattached, so we may see some of these players sign contracts over the coming days and weeks.
Read below as we name 5 free agents that could still sign for English top-flight clubs.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
-----------------
The Japanese international was released by Arsenal this summer with a year to go on his contract.
Tomiyasu played just 5 minutes of football last season due to a troublesome knee injury, and he was forced into another operation earlier this year.
There is optimism that the defender will be back fully fit soon, so a Premier League club could take a chance on him.
Tomiyasu never disappointed when called upon by the Gunners, and he is still only 26 years of age.
