“Could leave” | ExWHUEmployee | Rodriguez Hammers exit still on cards

**Guido Rodriguez could still depart West Ham soon despite the closure of the summer transfer window.**

It was widely expected that the veteran Argentinian midfielder would depart east London over the summer, with a return to La Liga looking highly likely – however, that wasn’t the case despite interest from Real Betis and Espanyol.

Although the window slammed shut on Monday evening with Rodriguez still a West Ham player, out insider Ex has revealed that there is still a chance of the player departing the club.

“We have been told that there is still a chance that Guido Rodríguez could leave West Ham,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “Whilst the domestic transfer window shut on Monday a number of foreign leagues window’s are still open.

“The Mexican transfer window runs till the 12th September and a move back to the country where he spent his early career could be on the cards. The other possible destination is Saudi Arabia and their window closes on Tuesday, September 23.

“It is thought however that Rodriquez turned down a move to Saudi on deadline day and a return to Mexico appeals more to him. We will keep you posted on this.”
