Matheus Cunha insisted he'll "be back soon" after limping off during Manchester United's victory over Burnley on Saturday, with his injury causing significant worry for Ruben Amorim. Cunha has emerged as one of the standout performers for the Red Devils, despite their mixed beginning to the campaign.
The Brazilian arrived from Wolves during the summer transfer window but has rapidly adapted. But a hamstring problem forced him to limp off during the opening period at the weekend. Cunha managed to depart Old Trafford without assistance on Saturday evening, offering those associated with the club optimism that his setback wasn't as severe as initially feared - and now the Brazilian has used social media to suggest his spell on the sidelines won't be extended.
After withdrawing from the Brazil squad, he stated: "What an incredible environment, it's great to be here. I'll be back soon, always with joy and gratitude. Thanks for all the messages."
Amorim was clearly worried at the weekend with Mason Mount also presenting fitness doubts.
He commented: "It was hard to lose a player like Cunha and Mason Mount - Mount played like 30 minutes with an injury. I don't know [if they are long-term injuries], I don't know but I'm concerned about that. They are so important for us, so we'll see."

United have collected just four points from their opening nine league fixtures, but their next challenge is the Manchester derby against City at the Etihad.
They will be eager to have a complete squad available as they travel to face their neighbours, who have also endured a sluggish start to the campaign, hoping to secure all three points.
Amorim has already expressed his appreciation for Cunha and the influence he's brought following his £62.5million move from Molineux.
The United manager praised his fighting spirit and the standards he sets for the squad in their pursuit of victory.
"He's a loud guy that's really important in this moment," said the Portuguese coach.
"When he's upset, you can feel it in the environment and that's good. When you play some games and he loses, he's a different guy, and that's good. He has some characteristics that we miss last season, so I'm really happy with him and the other guys."
