With every international break, managers throughout world football cross their fingers and hope all their players come back in good shape. This international break will be especially important in that regard given it’s so early in the season and the coming weeks could determine how campaigns go.
Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim will have sent his men off across the world hoping they don’t pick up any knocks or make any existing condition worse than it already is. The Portuguese manager may now have a problem in that regard and it’s related to his own country.
Portugal’s FPF, the country’s football association, has released a statement revealing Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot has withdrawn from the national squad. The fullback is said to be suffering from muscle discomfort, and has been released by the national team’s medical professionals.
There’s no further information on what the precise issue is with the Manchester United player but it’s clearly serious enough to rule him out of Roberto Martinez’s squad for the full international break.
Diogo Dalot has been replaced by Nuno Tavares.
