Gabby Agbonlahor has told Jadon Sancho he won’t play for Aston Villa unless he is ‘running around’.

The former Villa striker has once again likened Sancho’s loan move from Manchester United to Marcus Rashford's last season.

He has already described the deal as a ‘panic buy’ and speaking on talkSPORT has returned to the theme – and warned the 25-year-old his career could go into decline if he doesn’t do well under Unai Emery.

He said: “I look back at Jadon Sancho, I mean for Dortmund, where he had his most joy, 158 games, 53 goals, 67 assists he got for Dortmund.

“Manchester United didn't work out, 83 games, 12 goals, 6 assists, not a great record for an attacking winger.

“And then Chelsea, only 41 games, five goals but ten assists. So his stats are obviously getting worse and worse.

“For me, his contract's up at the end of the season, I think Manchester United might have the option to an extension of one year.

"It's make or break because if he doesn't put in a top season for Aston Villa and do really well your £350,000 a week will go down to £50,000 a week at your club….

“Rashford's similar. One game, unbelievable, and you're like ‘Oh yes,’ next week, ‘Oh, you're not running around, you don't fancy today?’.

“That's been the problem with Sancho and if he does that at Aston Villa, he won't play.”
