The Japan international midfielder has penned a new two-year extension which will now keep her at the Joie Stadium until the summer of 2029.

It will see the 2024/25 Etihad Player of the Season reach eight years with the Blues after she signed in September 2022, before totalling 95 appearances so far.

During that time she has also established herself as one of world football’s finest operators and Hasegawa explained how City’s desire to win major honours – backed by our impressive summer transfer business – meant she’s delighted to remain in Manchester.

“I’m very happy to have signed my contract extension, I’m so excited,” she declared.

“I really want to win the title at this club and there are players I want to play with. This is one of the biggest reasons [why I wanted] to stay here.

“I think the new things always have a good impact on the team, so the new manager and new players are so good and it makes me and I have to work hard.”
