The San Francisco 49ers have ended a contract stand-off with wide receiver Jauan Jennings, agreeing to a reworked deal days ahead of the new season.
Jennings is entering the final year of his contract having signed a two-year extension last offseason.
The 2020 seventh-round pick was due to earn $7.5million in 2025, but Jennings and the 49ers came to terms on an agreement that will add $3m in play-time incentives to his contract, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Once Jauan Jennings got healthy and began recovering from his calf injury, negotiations with the 49ers picked up and resulted in an agreement.

Jennings bets on himself
Jennings would likely have been the Super Bowl MVP two seasons ago had the 49ers not suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 58.
He threw a passing touchdown to Christian McCaffrey in the second quarter of that game on a trick play and caught a go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
San Francisco slumped to a 6-11 record last season as the 49ers were bitten hard by the injury bug, but Jennings had the best season of his career, solidifying his status as one of quarterback Brock Purdy's most reliable weapons.
Jennings finished the 2024 campaign with 975 receiving yards and six touchdowns, only missing out on a 1,000-yard season because of a dubious ejection in Week 18.

According to Schefter, the 49ers offered him a multi-year extension, which Jennings rejected.
He is, in essence, betting on himself to enjoy another strong season and cash in as a free agent next offseason.
Jennings returned to practice on Monday following a calf injury and is expected to start when the 49ers face the Seattle Seahawks on the road in Week 1.
