It has been a hugely significant week for Jack Porter, with the talented young Arsenal goalkeeper achieving several notable milestones.
Firstly, Porter signed his first professional contract with the club, which is a major boost given how highly rated he is.
With Tommy Setford having suffered an injury, Porter was subsequently called upon to travel with the Arsenal first-team squad for the game against Liverpool as the third-choice goalkeeper.
Porter was in and around the first-team squad at times last season so it is encouraging to see that he is still close to the senior setup.
Yesterday Porter made his debut for England U19s and kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory against Ukraine, with Max Dowman also featuring in that game.
Overall, it has been an excellent week for Porter and the 17-year-old will be hoping to make even more progress as the campaign goes on.
With Lucas Nygaard having gone on loan to Brabrand, Porter may have more opportunities to feature for Arsenal U21s, while he could also play for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League and is still eligible for the U18s.
The ultimate aim for Porter will be to eventually make another senior appearance following on from his debut as a 16-year-old against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup last season when he became the youngest player to ever start a game for Arsenal.
