ANTOINE Semenyo has been nominated for the Premier League player of the month for August.

The [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) winger has made an excellent start to the season, scoring twice and picking up one assist across the three league games so far this season.

Semenyo turned the game around on the opening day at Liverpool.

With Bournemouth trailing 2-0, the Ghanaian scored two second-half goals to level the game, with the second strike the pick of the two.

He received the ball not far outside of the Cherries box and he surged into the Liverpool half, before pulling the trigger on a shot that found the bottom corner from just outside the box.

While the Cherries went on to lose 4-2, Semenyo started the season with a bang, and backed it up the following week by providing the assist for Marcus Tavernier's goal against Wolves, as Bournemouth won 1-0 at home.

Semenyo continued his good early form at Spurs last weekend, as the Cherries won 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to make it two wins from three games so far this season.

The other nominees for the August award are Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal), Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool), Jack Grealish (Everton), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Erling Haaland (Man City), Joao Pedro (Chelsea) and Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool).
