Manchester United has had a busy summer transfer window, securing five new players, including a focus on strengthening their attack with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.

The arrival of young goalkeeper Senne Lammens has now sparked speculation about the future of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.

With the Turkish transfer window open until September 12, Turkish outlet Sporx reports that Trabzonspor is actively searching for a new goalkeeper after selling Uğurcan Çakır to rival Galatasaray.

The club has reportedly made an offer for Manchester City’s third-choice keeper, Stefan Ortega.

At the same time, Manchester United has offered Onana to Trabzonspor on a season-long loan. The 29-year-old, who was a high-profile signing from Inter Milan in 2023, struggled last season, making five errors that led to goals. This has seen him lose his starting spot to Bayindir for the first three league matches under manager Ruben Amorim.

Onana’s only appearance this season was in a surprising Carabao Cup loss to Grimsby Town, where his performance was underwhelming. His position at the club now appears to be behind both Bayindir and the recently signed Lammens.

While Trabzonspor is evaluating its options, a move for Onana seems unlikely. The Cameroonian goalkeeper reportedly turned down a move to Galatasaray last week, preferring to stay and compete for his place at Old Trafford. Unless he has a change of heart, a temporary move to Turkey seems improbable.
