The NFL season will kick off on Thursday night with 80 former Alabama players on the rosters of the league’s teams.
Last season, 75 former Alabama players appeared in at least one NFL regular-season game – the most from one college program in one season in the league’s history.
The Crimson Tide contingent opening the 2025 season includes 67 players on active rosters, 10 on practice squads, two on injured reserve/designated to return and one on season-ending injured reserve.
The Philadelphia Eagles have the most former Alabama players with seven on their active roster and two on their practice squad.
The Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers do not have a former Alabama player on their roster. The Indianapolis Colts do not have one on their active roster, but do have one on their practice squad.
The former Alabama players in the pros include 15 defensive backs, 12 defensive linemen, 12 offensive linemen, 12 wide receivers, eight linebackers, six running backs, five quarterbacks, four edge rushers, three tight ends, one fullback, one kicker and one punter.
Fifteen of the players are rookies – nine on active rosters and six on practice squads.
