Lia Wälti announced her departure from Arsenal this morning, and her next club has now been confirmed. The Swiss international has signed for Juventus on a deal running until 2027.
Wälti joined Arsenal in 2018 from Turbine Potsdam and went on to win the WSL, the [Women’s Champions League](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-champions-league/), and two Continental Cups with the Gunners. She made a total of 183 appearances for the club.
On the international stage, Wälti made her debut in 2011 and has earned 131 caps to date. She captained Switzerland at their last three major tournaments, most recently the Women’s EURO 2025 on home soil, where they reached the quarter-finals before falling to Spain.
Before her time with the Gunners, Wälti played for Langnau and Köniz in Switzerland, before moving to Team Bern West and later BSC Young Boys. After winning her first career title with Young Boys, she made the move to Turbine Potsdam.
“I feel excited, it’s a big step for me after leaving a place where I had spent so much time but it’s a club I’ve always followed. I know a lot of the players here, it’s a new league for me as well and I’m really excited to be here.
“Every time I have to make a decision I listen to my gut feeling. When I spoke to all of the people at the club here I had a really good feeling that they, firstly, value my game, and also that they have big goals – they want to win trophies. There’s a really good squad here, the league has grown a lot in the last few years and I’m excited to explore this new league with Juventus, and I was very impressed by them last season.”
