The Seattle Seahawks‘ offense is slated to look a lot differently this year than it has in years past.
They’ve made a lot of impactful changes over the past several months that could change their outlook.
The jury is still out on what that outlook will be, but fans should prepare themselves for a new-look team.
One of the biggest changes is at quarterback, going from multi-year starter Geno Smith to Sam Darnold, who is coming off a career year with the Minnesota Vikings.
Darnold was rewarded with a handsome contract from the Seahawks, as they believe he can be their starter for the foreseeable future.
While Darnold is going to start the year under center for this team, analyst Evan Cohen isn’t convinced he’ll keep the job for the long haul, which he recently noted on “Unsportsmanlike Radio.”
“Jalen Milroe will become the full-time starter at quarterback in Seattle. I don’t mean right away, but, at some point this season, it’s going to be Jalen Milroe’s job,” Cohen said.

In Cohen’s eyes, Jalen Milroe will overtake Darnold for the job, getting an opportunity to showcase his potential.
Darnold’s contract would indicate otherwise, but contracts don’t always mean a player will be on the field more than their teammates.
Kirk Cousins is a prime example of that on the Atlanta Falcons, and while the Seahawks didn’t use first-round capital on Milroe like the Falcons did with Michael Penix Jr., they did select him in the third round.
That’s still early enough for them to believe he can be a special player, so it will ultimately be interesting to see how this situation plays out in Seattle.
For now, fans are looking forward to their Week 1 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, which should be an entertaining battle to kick off the season.
