Denmark manager Brian Riemer has said William Osula appears very happy despite claims that Newcastle United stopped him from leaving in the summer window.
Eintracht Frankfurt made a late attempt to sign the striker. Earlier this week, we [covered multiple claims from Germany](https://sportwitness.co.uk/newcastle-didnt-agree-magpies-blocked-players-deadline-move-despite-holding-concrete-talks/) about the Bundesliga side’s failed attempt to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger reported Eintracht Frankfurt held concrete talks, but Newcastle blocked his exit on deadline day. On the same day, the Magpies signed Yoane Wissa and sold Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a British record fee.
Osula is in contention to make his senior debut for Denmark in the ongoing international break. Brian Riemer, the national team manager, has been talking about the 22-year-old and [BT](https://www.bt.dk/fodbold/ny-landsholdsangriber-skal-afgoere-kampe-med-x-faktor?gaa_at=eafs&gaa_n=ASWzDAhgb2x9NDaP8EJubg5BM_RCGUkrEbVak0R2kRQ6luOZs8eo03EZqiZI&gaa_ts=68b979e4&gaa_sig=hx9RI0413On-uMGes7i4s1hf2kw9A1oaHMrbN3bgU6-dAIQFSMSUBEuaL4mGmKfBsE0BHmkqJp8-1WJEBNzdFA%3D%3D) in Denmark have relayed his comments.
Riemer isn’t aware what happened behind the scenes in the summer window and says Osula isn’t disappointed about not getting a move away from Eddie Howe’s side.
_“I don’t know what’s up and down, because it all happened very quickly on Monday. Suddenly he was on his way out of Newcastle, but then suddenly he wasn’t. I’ve only ever seen him as super happy, so I don’t think he has a problem with it not happening,”_ he said.
_“I think he’s settled in well at Newcastle, and he’s probably had the best start to a season during his time at the club. Newcastle have sold and bought a few players, so we’ll have to see how his role ends up being.”_
The manager has explained why he believes Osula is capable for making a difference on the pitch.
_“Osula has extraordinary pace and physicality, which has also caused Virgil van Dijk some problems. At the top level, he has an X-factor that can make a difference,”_ Riemer explained.
_“I couldn’t find a new Victor Jensen, but I could find another game changer, and I assessed that William Osula had the best skills. He can’t just be used in attack, he can also play on the wing, as he has done at times for Newcastle.”_
