“That’s really nonsense” – Now sporting director fires back at Burnley man, unhappy with media too

Feyenoord technical director Dennis Te Kloese has responded to criticism aimed at manager Robin van Persie by Burnley’s Quilindschy Hartman.

A small war of words has broken out at Feyenoord this summer after Hartman departed the club for Burnley early in the window.

He later vented his disappointment at his treatment by Van Persie at Feyenoord last season, criticising the Dutchman’s communication skills after he had left him out last season. That was an opinion shared by Ramiz Zerrouki, who has also departed the club.

Van Persie has since responded to the situation, hitting back at the Burnley defender and insisting his attitude and performances simply weren’t good enough last season.

Hartman, for his part, has since tried to douse the flames by insisting he did not intend to be insulting to his former club and suggesting that his comments weren’t meant to have started such a war of words.

Te Kloese isn’t impressed, though, and has now accused the Burnley man of talking complete nonsense. He’s also not impressed with the media for their role in the situation either.

_“That’s absolute nonsense,”_ he said in response to Hartman’s comments.

_“A player not getting what he wants to hear is different from poor or unclear communication. Robin, on the other hand, is very clear about his opinions and thoughts._

_“So, if he thinks you’re training poorly or that you’re simply not as good as a competitor at that moment and that’s why you’re starting on the bench, he’ll say so. Crystal clear. A player might be disappointed about that, but that has nothing to do with poor communication._

_“It’s good that Hartman has now qualified his statements, is still proud of the club, and considers himself a Feyenoord supporter. Incidentally, we never doubted that for a moment._

_“The fact that some analysts blindly accept such a story and then appear on TV with statements like, ‘I don’t think Robin handled that well in terms of communication,’ really surprises me. Then I think: What makes you think you can say that?_

_“‘Did you, as a so-called expert, have any contacts and made any effort to verify claims before fully accepting them? But apparently, all that is no longer necessary.”_
