West Ham United have confirmed that assistant manager Rick Passmoor has departed from his role with the Women’s team.
And within hours of his departure, Passmore was confirmed as the interim Head Coach at Leicester City, who sacked former boss Amandine Miquel last month.
Passmoor, who previously managed Notts County and Leeds United, joined the Hammers in September 2023 as part of Rehanne Skinner’s backroom staff.
In his two seasons with the club, he played a key role in lifting the side from an 11th-place WSL finish in 2023/24 to ninth last term, helping set new records for points and home victories in the league.
Manager Skinner praised her colleague’s influence, highlighting his knowledge, energy and positivity as crucial to the progress made on and off the pitch during a record-breaking campaign.
Explaining his decision to leave, Passmoor insisted family circumstances meant he needed to step away. "With 12 months left on my contract at West Ham United, I have had to make the tough decision to step back from my role at the club," he said.
He also reflected fondly on his time in east London, paying tribute to the staff across Chadwell Heath, the Academy, and the women’s programme, as well as the support of the fans.
Passmoor also reserved special thanks for Skinner, crediting her leadership and vision for the team’s development.
West Ham have thanked Passmoor for his contribution over the past two seasons and wished him well for the future.
