Jurrien Timber has addressed the injuries that have disrupted his Arsenal career so far, downplaying the idea that he is an injury-prone player. Speaking to VoetbalPrimeur, the Dutchman reflected on his time in North London and the frustrations of back-to-back setbacks.

The versatile defender was sidelined for most of the 2023/24 season after suffering an ACL tear on the opening day of the Premier League. However, Timber insists that was a freak issue rather than a recurring weakness.
“If you look at my career, I haven’t had many injuries,” Timber explained. “An ACL injury, you can’t do much about it and I played almost everything after the injury.”

Just as he was regaining rhythm, Timber ran into another problem towards the end of the 2024/25 campaign. This time, it was a bone issue in his ankle that required attention once the season had finished.
“Towards the end of the 24/25 season there was something with a bone in my ankle, I couldn’t help it either,” Timber said. “I played with that and the moment the season was over, I had surgery.”

Despite the setbacks, Arsenal remain optimistic that Timber will play a key role under Mikel Arteta moving forward. His versatility allows him to feature both at right-back, left-back and centre-back, giving the Gunners crucial depth across the defensive line.
Now fully focused on recovery and fitness, Timber is determined to put his injury frustrations behind him and prove his value in a season where Arsenal are targeting both domestic and European success.
