Opinion - Mikel Arteta may get annoyed, but Andrea Berta must accept £19m offer just made for Arsenal's 'little…

The transfer window may be closed for Arsenal, but other nations are still looking to enter the market for some fresh faces.

It means that, while the Gunners cannot sign new stars for the team, they are still able to sell if there is interest from abroad.

With eight signings made over a chaotic summer transfer window, Andrea Berta may have to consider some more exits if the opportunity arises.

The squad is looking bigger than ever, giving Mikel Arteta more options, but more headaches in his Arsenal team, too.

With an offer from Turkey now arriving for one star, it would make sense to sanction a sale in the coming days.

Arsenal receive an offer for Leandro Trossard from Besiktas that they must accept

While the transfer window is closed in the Premier League, there are still some big leagues able to operate in the market.

The most notable is Turkey, with clubs spending big on signings over the course of the market so far.

With just days remaining in their transfer window, a report from Sozcu claims that Besiktas have made an offer worth €22 million (£19 million) for Leandro Trossard.

The report states that Arsenal are yet to respond to the offer, but are expected to do so soon.

It may be a difficult choice, given that the Gunners would be unable to replace the 30-year-old anytime soon.

However, with just one year remaining on his contract, and a good offer on the table, it’s one that just makes sense to accept.

Arsenal haven’t been good at selling, with the club believing that they have missed opportunities to move players on at the right time for the right fee in the past.

In this instance, letting Trossard leave makes sense as the Gunners can cash in on his remaining contract, while his influence on the team is diminishing.

The ability to play Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze on the left means there are replacements internally in his role.

It remains to be seen whether Trossard would be open to such a move, as he will have the final say, but it’s one Arsenal must pursue with.

Leandro Trossard has been a bargain signing for Arsenal

Sometimes it isn’t the flashy signings that perform the best, but rather the reliable squad players who can step up when needed.

At Arsenal, Trossard has certainly been a reliable presence.

The Belgian international has a clinical edge to his play, capable of scoring some important goals in matches, especially from the bench.

He hasn’t always started, but his influence cannot be understated, as explained by Arteta back in April 2024.

He said: “Trossard, great player. He’s a little magician. He can score on any surface and he’s a big threat; so composed, so cool, he can play in different positions.

“It’s just a joy to have him in the team. I think the timing of the first goal was really helpful as well. [I am ] really happy.”

Any sale, as a result, may annoy Arteta, given his affection for the star.

However, his dwindling importance on the team mixed with his contract situation may point towards accepting a deal, even if it risks frustrating the manager.
