Arsenal and Barcelona 'leading admirers' of Nottingham Forest talisman

Arsenal and Barcelona are among the "leading admirers" of Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

Caught Offside has claimed the Brazilian is on the radar of the European heavyweights as they ponder their future options in the transfer market.

Barcelona reportedly see Murillo as a long-term fixture in the centre of defence following the exit of Inigo Martinez having placed an emphasis on signing players of a young age with a high ceiling.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been tipped to strengthen the centre-back positions with Gabriel Magalhaes the only natural left-footed central defender on the books.

Murillo has been a revelation for Forest and has become an integral part of the Reds' success in the Premier League.

But that has also alerted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in the world and Chelsea reportedly showed a serious interest in him this summer.

However, the Reds are under no pressure to sell one of their talismans with Forest showing their strength in the transfer market to resist Tottenham's move for Morgan Gibbs-White.

Murillo has made 71 appearances for Forest in the Premier League since he joined the club for a bargain £10.6m from Corinthians in 2023.

He would command a figure that is worth at least 10 times that amount in the current market which shows just what a brilliant investment he has been.
