Club excitedly explain how they’ve secured Arsenal youngster day after PL window closed

When the Premier League window closes, and for that latter the market for lower leagues in England, it gives opportunities to others around Europe to try and fish in a pond they’d otherwise find blocked.

Premier League clubs will usually loan their youngsters within the English football system so when that opportunity is gone, and someone needs a change of scenery, then opportunities arise.

On September 2nd, second division Danish club Brabrand IF managed to bag themselves an Arsenal youngster on loan, and the move is making waves in the Danish media because of how expected such a route is.

Lucas Martin Nygaard, a 19-year-old goalkeeper, arrived at Brabrand IF thanks to a last minute operation between the club and Arsenal, with the Danish window closing on September 2nd.

Brabrand IF sports director Andreas Rasch-Christensen has spoken to [Tipsbladet](https://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/generelle/aarhus-klub-forklarer-opsigtsvaekkende-transfer) about how it all happened and was coordinated with Arsenal loan chief Sam  Hayball: _“We wrote together on WhatsApp, and then we agreed to have a conversation over the phone, where I thought I would convince him about the state of affairs in the Danish 2nd division. When we spoke, he had a knowledge of the 2nd division and our goalkeeping team._

Arsenal sound like they were the driving force behind the move, inviting Brabrand IF officials to London to watch the young goalkeeper, and paying for the trip.

Rasch-Christensen went on to say: _“An Arsenal player for Brabrand are two different worlds.”_

Martin Nygaard will now tussle with the other goalkeepers at the Danish club.
