Wolverhampton Wanderers had a huge scare last season, after being involved in the relegation scrap up until the January transfer window - and fans will be hoping their transfer activity this summer can avoid putting them into a race like that again.
Vitor Pereira has brought in no fewer than seven first-team signings to avoid another poor campaign, and their first three Premier League games being losses means that they are up against it - and now GIVEMESPORTnames who the Portuguese boss could have in his starting XI.
Jose Sa Keeps Spot in Goal
Jose Sa celebrates for Wolves
Jose Sa celebrates for Wolves
Jose Sa has been Wolves' first-choice goalkeeper ever since his move to Molineux in the summer of 2021, and he doesn't look like giving that up.
Sam Johnstone is a solid backup, as proved by his England caps, and Dan Bentley is one of the better third-choice goalkeepers in the top-flight - but Sa's quality and leadership skills are undeniable.
Krejci Comes Straight Into Wolves Defence
Emmanuel Agbadou in action for Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolves have brought in a cohort of defenders in the past six months, aiming to shore up a backline that was increasingly leaky last season - and so they have a lot of options in the heart of their defence.
Emmanuel Agbadou, despite some underwhelming outings this season, should take his place in the starting XI, Toti Gomes is the club captain and rightfully takes his place in front of Sa, and new man Ladislav Krejci will make up the back three after his late move from Girona.
Yerson Mosquera and Santiago Bueno offer solid backup, but whether that will be enough to keep them up remains to be seen.
Rodrigo Gomes and David Moller Wolfe Start in Midfield
Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes applauding the supporters
The central midfield options are the most obvious pairing in the club. Brazilian duo Joao Gomes and Andre, the former especially, have been extremely strong in their time in the West Midlands and it could be hard to displace them over the course of the season, owing to their tenacity.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Marshall Munetsi offer something different, but the Brazil pairing are full internationals and so it could find it tough to topple them in the coming months.
The wing-back areas are tough. New signing Jackson Tchatchoua has arrived from Hellas Verona, and long-serving icon Matt Doherty's experience could be indispensable - but Rodrigo Gomes has impressed on the right in the wake of Nelson Semedo's departure from Molineux.
And that leaves the aptly-named David Moller Wolfe on the left-hand side after his move from AZ Alkmaar, edging ahead of Hugo Bueno as the option in that area of the field.
Jhon Arias Should Start in Attack
Jorgen Strand Larsen in action for Wolverhampton Wanderers
Goals have been tough to come by for Wolves this season, with just two to their name in their opening three fixtures.
However, Jhon Arias is an exciting addition from Brazilian side Fluminense, and he should get the nod over Enso Gonzalez on the right, but Wolves do look light in that area of the field.
Fer Lopez will transition to the left as one of their major summer signings this summer from Celta Vigo, already showcasing what he can do against Everton over the weekend - with South Korean star Hwang Hee-chan as backup.
And the first name on the team sheet will be Jorgen Strand Larsen, with the Newcastle United target being their spearhead and main chance of survival - where he will be joined by fellow tall pairing Tolu Arokodare and Sasa Kalajdzic, who was linked with rivals West Bromwich Alboin on Deadline Day.
The selections mean that three of four of Wolves' highest earners, who take home £185,000-a-week in Tchatchoua, Munetsi, and Hee-chan, are on the bench.
Substitutes: Sam Johnstone, Jackson Tchatchoua, Yerson Mosquera, Santiago Bueno, Hugo Bueno, Marshall Munetsi, Jean Ricner-Bellegarde, Hwang Hee-chan, Tolu Arokodare
Reserves: Dan Bentley, Matt Doherty, Ki-Jana Hoever, Enso Gonzales, Nathan Fraser
