Baleba signs, Fernandes sold - What Manchester United starting line up could look like next year - gallery

Manchester United managed to strengthen their starting line up in the summer transfer window but they did not manage to address every issue in the squad.

Ruben Amorim prioritised an attacking overhaul with roughly £200 million spent on Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, while United also spent a further £18.2m to bring Senne Lammens to the club on deadline day.

United are happy with the business they managed to complete but acknowledge they were unable to address every area for improvement as part of their long-term rebuild under the Portuguese head coach. It means United will be in the market for at least two central midfielders next year, while they could also target improvements in either wing-back position.

With that all in mind, here is a very early look at how the starting line up could look after the next stage of their rebuild.

United will hope Lammens can either become their long-term choice in goal or force an improvement from Andre Onana.
