West Ham United have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Anna Csiki on a season-long loan deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Hammers this evening.
The 25-year-old joined Spurs from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club BK Häcken last summer. The player got a number of appearances under her belt for the North Londoners last season. In addition to her spells with BK Häcken and Spurs, Csiki has also turned out for Hungarian side Ferencváros.
On the international stage, Csiki recently collected her 50th senior cap for Hungary.
After joining West Ham United on loan, Csiki said “I’m really excited to be joining West Ham United. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Club. I had a great chat with Rehanne [Skinner] and she explained her vision for the team, and I knew straightaway that this would be the right move for me.
“I’m a left-footed, offensive player that likes to have the ball at my feet. I’m creative and try to help the team as much as I can through scoring goals and making assists.
“Being the first Hungarian player to play in the WSL, and to wear the famous Claret and Blue, is the biggest honour for me and my family. I know that I’m the first but I hope I’m not the last. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
West Ham United kick-off the new Barclays Women’s Super League season at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
